The inhabitants of Pulau Merah beach in Banyuwangi who are members of the Eco Ranger and the Pulau Merah Beach community have installed a signboard that consists of education on how to dispose of waste according to the type of waste.
Apart from education, the signboard also contains the results of research or facts about solid waste in the area. “We want both visitors, business actors and local inhabitants to know and then be able to implement it by throwing garbage into the trash can according to its type,” said the Eco Ranger coordinator, Jibriel Firman Sofyan, Saturday (6/15/2019).
Firman conveyed, the data displayed on the signboard installed on Friday (14/6/2019) could also be a reference for improving waste management performance in the future, optimizing the Eco Ranger 1.0 Waste Management Center and increasing 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) activities.
“We want visitors, business actors and the community are motivated to actively participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the surrounding environment,” he hoped.
For your information, Eco Ranger is a program initiated by the Greeneration Foundation with the main focus on community-based waste management in tourism destinations in Dusun Pancer, Sumberagung Village, Pesanggaran Subdistrict, Banyuwangi.
The EcoRanger program will be implemented in 17 cities in Indonesia which are the main destinations for national tourism destinations, and Banyuwangi is the first city.
Not only on Pulau Merah Beach, furthermore, Eco Ranger will also carry out the installation of a signboard consists of the same thing at Wedi Ireng Beach and Mustika Beach Banyuwangi.
