Considering there is a lot of organic waste like coconut husk produced by the local vendor in Pulau Merah Beach, the EcoRanger team was inspired to upcycling the waste to be a valuable product. The coconut husks are chopped to get the fibers, and then it is processed into a flowerpot.
This upcycling activity or also called “Recycle Day” is conducted every Friday starting from 20 October 2020 by the EcoRanger Banyuwangi team and volunteers. In the future, we hope this activity can create a new job and empower young people and women in Dusun Pancer Desa Sumberagung, Banyuwangi.
